I know, I know, I'm the only person in the universe who didn't like that movie. :P It's not about comparing it to other Disney movies, though. It's just not my kind of humour.

... I don't even remember why I didn't like Pocahontas. I still love the songs, but I remember the movie disappointed me a lot.

Also sorry for the RPing fail this week. I've been trying to spam daily but I'm not so inspired and I think it shows.

[identity profile] lady-kikyou.livejournal.com 2010-04-16 01:32 am (UTC)(link)
I think there are lots of other people who didn't like it, actually-- there's a reason why it wasn't a huge box office success, after all. But I do think it's pretty lulzy.

Well, I'm pretty used to Disney's historical inaccuracy, so that didn't bother me. And I liked that the main couple didn't end up together for once. I mean, I cried my eyes out, but it was a nice change.

... ahaha, and I'm about to post slow-to-full hiatus notices everywhere, fff. |DDDD

[identity profile] laurus-nobilis.livejournal.com 2010-04-16 01:35 am (UTC)(link)
I think it's a kind of hit-or-miss humour. It's like, say, Mel Brooks movies. You love them or hate them.

... well, I love stuff like Aladdin, so I'm pretty sure the historical inaccuracies weren't what bothered me. :P I really have no idea.

Ooooh. Pokemon-related or general busyness?

[identity profile] lady-kikyou.livejournal.com 2010-04-16 01:42 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, that's probably it. Still, I like my Disney status as it; there isn't a single movie I have disliked, though I do feel pretty 'meh' about some of them.

Haha, well. I liked Hercules, for crying out loud. If that didn't make me go into WTFWTFWTFWTFWTFWTF mode, nothing else will. XD

Actually, my grandmother just got eye surgery and I'm playing nurse/designated driver for a while. I'll still be around, though keeping up with tags might be hard.

[identity profile] laurus-nobilis.livejournal.com 2010-04-16 01:44 am (UTC)(link)
... see, Hercules had similar humour to New Groove and I didn't like it either. I SEE A PATTERN. XDDD

O-ouch. I hope everything's all right. :(

[identity profile] lady-kikyou.livejournal.com 2010-04-16 01:48 am (UTC)(link)
I was thinking about all the historical inaccuracies with that one, actually. I love Greek myths and all, so that one was a huge hit to my inner nerd. BUT DISNEY MAGIC BUYS ME EVERY TIME. And Meg. Meg is awesome.

Yup, it's fine! o/ It's just a whole bunch of eye drops every few hours and then a few more appointments to check on her progress, so I'm running everywhere. I should still be able to tag, though, just not as much.

[identity profile] laurus-nobilis.livejournal.com 2010-04-16 01:53 am (UTC)(link)
Weeell, yes, my Greek myth nerdiness is another factor why I disliked that one. |DDD But at least I thought that Meg was awesome and Hades was hilarious. With Emperor's New Groove I was just... meh.

Ah, well, then it's nothing worrying at least. Good to know.

[personal profile] dreamgranter 2010-04-16 01:59 am (UTC)(link)
Oh boy, Hades. XD I think he was Disney's attempt at doing comical villains again, and they were pretty successful at that. So yeah, my Disney status quo remains.

... at least until the fourth installment of PotC is out. >>;

Yeah. Her sight has already improved considerably, too, and that's what was really bothering her.

[identity profile] laurus-nobilis.livejournal.com 2010-04-16 02:03 am (UTC)(link)
FOURTH INSTALLMENT WHAT FOURTH INSTALLMENT. THERE IS NO SUCH THING LALALALA. /lives in headcanon lalaland forever

Then that'll make everyone's lives easier in the future, too.

[identity profile] lady-kikyou.livejournal.com 2010-04-16 02:06 am (UTC)(link)
KJHNDSKJFHSJK WHY DID THEY HAVE TO FIND A ~LOVE INTEREST~ FOR JACK, LAU? WHAT ABOUT THE PEARL? ;___; /will probably watch it anyway sob

Yup. :3

[identity profile] lady-kikyou.livejournal.com 2010-04-16 02:15 am (UTC)(link)
BUT I'LL COMPLAIN FOREVER. ;___;

[identity profile] laurus-nobilis.livejournal.com 2010-04-16 02:19 am (UTC)(link)
GET A HEADCANON LALALAND. AND/OR WRITE FIC.

No, seriously, in my headcanon Jack and Barbossa both find the Fountain of Youth, and they spend the rest of forever stealing the Pearl back and forth from each other, AND NO SEQUELS ARE GOING TO CHANGE MY MIND ABOUT THAT.

[identity profile] lady-kikyou.livejournal.com 2010-04-16 02:22 am (UTC)(link)
... dude, don't even mention fic writing right now. I have new ideas, but I just can't let go of the DS long enough to write them. DX

But yes, my headcanon was pretty much that. Until I read the news. Gdit, Disney, you have to learn when to stop.

[identity profile] laurus-nobilis.livejournal.com 2010-04-16 02:24 am (UTC)(link)
I should be writing anything right now. Tomorrow I'll have to catch up again, sob.

STOP? BUT HOW DO WE GET MONEYZ FROM THAT???

*adds up to the Meg love*

[identity profile] lady-kikyou.livejournal.com 2010-04-16 02:36 am (UTC)(link)
I knoooooooooow. *A* She's so witty and incredibly sarcastic and even a little sexy for a Disney princess-type!

[identity profile] fujurpreux.livejournal.com 2010-04-16 02:38 am (UTC)(link)
Adding to that, let me say that I saw it the other day in English (Ricky Martin's accent in the dub clashes with every one else's accent in a way that grates my nerves) and her voice is so sexy. *-*

[identity profile] lady-kikyou.livejournal.com 2010-04-16 02:43 am (UTC)(link)
... Ricky Martin wat. DON'T TELL ME HE DUBBED HERCULES.

But yes, her voice is so not princess-like-- in a good way! I swear, if I could come up with so many silly Greek references, I'd app her somewhere. *A*

[identity profile] fujurpreux.livejournal.com 2010-04-16 02:46 am (UTC)(link)
He did. And he's the only Puerto Rican amongst a cast of Mexican actors and it shows and it's painful. ;_;

[identity profile] lady-kikyou.livejournal.com 2010-04-16 02:52 am (UTC)(link)
Hhnnnng it's just. He's not even an actor, for crying out loud. I hate it when they pick ~famous artists~ for dubbing when they have no acting training at all. DX

[identity profile] fujurpreux.livejournal.com 2010-04-16 02:56 am (UTC)(link)
He, they wanted Luis Miguel to be Quasimodo. I don't know if you know about this guy, but he's a big thing in Televisa over here. I've never understood why, though.

[identity profile] lady-kikyou.livejournal.com 2010-04-16 03:03 am (UTC)(link)
... Luis Miguel as in the singer? In mah Televisa? WTF? DDDDDDDX

[identity profile] fujurpreux.livejournal.com 2010-04-16 03:04 am (UTC)(link)
Yep, that's the one! Luckily, he refused and, IIRC, he only sang the song in the credits.
