The other day I got an adorable dinosaur plushie from

lady_kikyou! ♥ His name is Baby Green (... long, in-jokey story) and today I finally stopped being lazy and took a photo of it.

Isn't it adorable? *_____* And he's sitting all alone there just for the photo, but since Ruby will ask, proof that I keep him in good company:

Name a character from one of the fandoms you think I should know, have written, etc. I will produce no fewer than something close to 100 words on why I love that character. If I don't know the character that well, I'll ask you for another one.

Um um. Murphy, Kyouya, Polly \:D/

I love how confident and actually competent she is. She's in a position where she's dealing with things that she (and most people!) have no way to understand or even know exist, she gets crash courses about them in the middle of trouble, and she's so open-minded and resourceful that she makes it work. She can keep a cool head and think on her feet even in situations that go waaaaay beyond normal police duties. :P

And one of the things that I love the most about her, even if it gives Harry a lot of trouble, is that she doesn't let her feelings get in the way of reason. She doesn't think "well, Harry's my friend so obviously he can do no wrong!"; she's always going to put general people's well-being above anything else.

AND TRUE SIGHT!MURPHY WAS AWESOME. AWESOME.

He's a much, much better person than he thinks he is. In spite of everything he's been taught and all the limitations he's put on himself, he cares so much and is so protective of his friends. And it shows. Apart from the cold act, he's a person who is naturally reserved, so very different from Tamaki and the rest and yet - it does show how much he loves his friends, even if he doesn't make a big fuss about that.

... unless he goes into protective mode and then FEAR, UNIVERSE, because you touch his friends and he will bring you down.

He needs a hug. ♥

I love you and your common sense, Apollo. ♥ No, really! Everyone is pretty much crazy around him, and he is soooo patient and long-suffering and sane. And yet he ends up liking the crazies around him, somehow. Even if they make his life hard.

Also, he's so... honest and responsible. I don't know how to put it. He's such a decent person. He wants to fight for JUSTICE! He's an idealist, and at the same time he's very realistic about it. I DON'T KNOW HOW TO SAY IT AND I MAKE NO SENSE but. I'll just hope you get it. |DDD

And of course he's got a dorky side too and apparently he doesn't even notice it, which is adorable. I want to adopt him and poke his cheeks foreveeeer.

WHERE TO START. I'm tempted to cheat and go for "dlkfjaklfjadsklf ♥" after all.

I just have to love a character who's honestly, genuinely good without being annoying, judgemental, dumb or all of the above. He's true to his ideals but he doesn't expect others to feel the same way he does, and he sees the best in people even if they don't follow the same rules he does (and it's refresing to see this attitude in an openly religious character, so kudos to Uncle Jim). Even when he pokes Harry about stuff you can tell that it's out of genuine concern.

And he's such a normal guy, too. He's friendly and approachable and he doesn't think he's the best thing ever. And he has a sense of humour and spent enough time with a stupid wizard to bend the rules a liiiiittle bit sometimes.

Well, he's a Wise Old Mentor and a Stupid Wizard so liking him was kind of a given, but still. He owns my heart so, so much. He keeps way too many secrets, and he regrets his mistakes but isn't all that good at fixing them, and he tries so hard to help Merlin (and everyone) but does it in stupidly complicated ways. The way he treats Merlin pretty much as a son is just too adorable.

And one of the things that makes Gaius interesting to me (as opposed to Wise Old Mentor #1287482) is that while he adore Merlin and is obviously on his "side" when it comes to magic, at the same time he genuinely respects Uther, as a king and as a person. In spite of how much Uther makes him headdesk.

And he makes potions! And has tons and tons of books! And a ridiculously anachronistic scientific attitude! ♥

Oh, yes. That's part of what makes him so believable, IMO. He's not just there to cover up Merlin's antics.

So cute! I adore his little smiling face. He looks so contented.

Hmm. Romana and Prowl.

Romana is the Doctor's equal, and that is awesome. She knows that she's awesome, too, and she has an ego this big. And she pulls it off! She clever and resourceful and competent, and she takes no nonsense from anyone. I think it's telling that even if the writers sometimes got her in Damsel In Distress situations, she still gives a general impression of being capable and, well, kick-ass. =D

And she has a great character development! She starts up bossy, stuck-up and by the book, and then she loosens up and turns to be funny and quirky. But she doesn't lose her brains or her no-nonsense attitude in the process. And then she goes off to save a parallel universe!

... so yes basically I want to be Romana when I grow up.

Oh, where to start? He's like a big pile of tropes I love. ♥

He won my heart when he chose to keep the room with a tree in it, and from then on it just got better and better. I love his zen. I love his temper. I love the way he slowly, slooowly loosens up and gets to care for the people around him. I love that he tries so hard to be a good guy, even if he doesn't always have it easy. I love that he finds the world fascinating and how much he appreciates everything around him. I love that when he's at his worst and I fully expected him to hurt a friend or an innocent bystander, he sees reason because he broke some bird's eggs no seriously how cute can you get. ♥

Actually, I think his character development might just be my favourite thing about TFA, period.

HE IS MADE OF SPARKLES AND LOVE. ♥ No, really, I can't be too coherent about him. He's such a good guy! He knows the situation around him is really, really awful, and he's had to do some horrible things, but he has a heart of gold and I just. Love him so much. That scene when he says he's staying in the military because he can't change things if he's not there is so... akjfajfdkjfkasjf I want to hug him. ;___;

And of course, he's hilarious! And clever, too, in spite of what it looks like at first. Seriously, I'm not doing him justice. ♥♥♥

B-but the long in-jokey name is the best part of it! Baww. I miss my not!baby. ;; /pets the screen

And, oh, Donna, your character development was so awesome why did it have to gooooo. ;___; She went from being a really insecure person who only wanted to fit in to someone who actively searched for the extraordinary. She doesn't take any nonsense from anyone, and no, she doesn't care if you're the bloody Oncoming Storm. Donna will always, always stand up for what she thinks is right. She's curious, she's funny, she's a lot more clever than she thinks she is, and she has COMMON SENSE which is pretty unbelievable in a Who companion!

And she makes Ten less emo, not by going "awwww poor woobie the universe hates you", but by making him snap out of it and actually being a positive influence. No wonder he ended up caring about her so very much.

No, it will still be an in-joke, just one that other people actually get. :o

If you remember... Rory after watching the next DW episode? How about Mickey and Martha now?

Mickey's character development is one of my favourite things in Who. He grows so, so much over the course of the series, even with all the odds against him. He's braver than he thinks and smarter than he thinks, and I was very, very glad that in the end he realized his own great qualities.

And he's such a good guy! He could be bitter about many things, but he isn't. He did his best to move on, and he did so by GOING OFF TO SAVE THE WORLD.

I love Mickey. So very, very much. ♥

I still love Martha, in spite of how much the writers screwed with storyline/development. I like how much of a geek she is, and her dorky references! And I know "curious" is pretty much a given to be a companion, but Martha really gave me this feeling that she was enjoying herself so much. She wanted to learn and see the universe! And that's why I was so annoyed when they changed it just to "follow the Doctor around", boo.

Also, SHE SAVED THE WORLD. And even if I didn't like the whole unrequited love thing, I did like that she said "enough" and walked away by her own choice because she deserved better than that.

With Martha, I started watching her episodes near the end of the unrequited love thing, so it probably helped that every time it might get on my nerves, I could remind myself that she gets over it by giving herself time and distance to grow into her own and not need the Doctor. (And in retrospect, I also like that she's the only new series full-time Companion to leave the Doctor by her own choice.)

Martha needs more credit. And more cameos as the Defender of Earth.
