Doctor Who 4x10

... wow, that was creepy. I really liked it. :D I don't have much more to say about it, except two things:

1. I kept wondering why on earth couldn't Donna be there and get to do something this week. I choose to believe that's because she would have, in fact, done something and then there'd be no episode. ;P

2. It was interesting to see people actually rebel against the Doctor's way of randomly taking care of stuff, and not taking his "because I'm the main character!" kind of explanations. :O Especially because I was just wondering about that while he ran around being bossy. I mean, it doesn't bother me at all that he acts like that, but there's a difference between accepting it as Main Character's Privilege and the characters in the show accepting it. It was a cool twist.

No comment on random!Rose or the preview. I'll wait until I actually see what happens next.

#1 Yes, I think that was the main reason. I have to admit #2 was part of why I loved this episode, it was different from the usual routine and yet very logical.

I kept wondering why on earth couldn't Donna be there and get to do something this week.

Someone on [livejournal.com profile] doctorwho said that it was because Catherine Tate was busy with Turn Left. If Donna had been there, she could've shamed the crowd well enough to rival Lady Sybil Ramkin.

The episode was... hard to pin down. It had a lot of interesting concepts, but tried to use too many and abandoned all the location-specific ones (which makes me hope that they'll revisit the planet in a later season, however unlikely that might be). Overall it left me feeling vaguely sick and more than a little uneasy, and knowing that it was supposed to doesn't make the feelings any better.
