Finished Generator Rex!

And I finally got a couple of icons, too. =P

I loooooved this show and I'm very, very glad that they managed to give it a proper ending, because it'd be a pity to leave something so well-written stay unfinished. (Cartoon Network, WHY DO YOU KEEP KILLING GOOD SHOWS)

But seriously. I loved it. Everything - the plot, the characters, the relationships, the world-building. The grey areas and difficult choices most of all! I've mentioned that a million times already, I know, but it's always nice to see a story that goes that way and sticks with it. Yes, it's a kids show and it's overall optimistic, but it's not simplistic or dumbed down. The hard choices are there. They're difficult. They have consequences.

Also, because I have to say it: the episode set in Argentina didn't make me want to kick the screen! XD There were a couple of moments where I did pull a :| face, true. (Why the llama? If it'd been the northwest, sure, but it doesn't even go with the rest of the setting. WHY YOUR OBSESSION WITH LLAMAS, USA.) But overall I did believe it could be Argentina and not Generic Pseudo-South American Country, and even the accents were good, so well played, show.

Rex himself is such a great character. I want to adopt him and take him home. ♥ He's such a good person, you know? He really does his best. I love the guy. And Six, and Holiday, and absolutely everyone. Really. I even ended up liking Circe a lot. (I also liked that their relationship wasn't played as DRAMA!!11 because that would've been annoying.) Hell, I ended up liking random people like Meechum a lot.

And now that's out of the way... yeah, no reason to deny it, the rest of this post is going to be a freaking love letter to César. XDDD

I just. I can't handle it, guys. I liked him in season 2, sure, but then season 3 happened and it was like ALL OF MY FAVOURITE THINGS TOGETHER OMG. Even his flaws are my favourite flaws. =P I went from "I love everyone so much that I couldn't pick a favourite character" to "I love everyone so much but I love César even more" and I really, really wasn't expecting that.

I mean... sure, I wanted to believe that he had good intentions. But the show is so well written that it actually kept me guessing! He was pretty cold to Rex at times. He didn't show signs of planning more than he let on. He did things for Black Knight that were pretty hard to justify. And I love, love, love the show for not going the "oh look he's so ~mysterious~" route that would've made things more obvious.

Because, like this? It was AMAZING to find out that yes, there is a Moral Event Horizon that he won't reach and he's doing everything possible to avoid letting other people get there. Even if it means doing things he's not proud of. Even if his own little brother thinks he's a jerk. And now I look back at that season and it's just - askldfjasklfjaklsjflasjk CAN I GIVE YOU A HUG.

... he did deserve to get punched in the face, though. I'm not going to argue with that. |D

But seriously, this guy. THIS GUUUUUY. Sure, the quirks are real, and it's also true that he can be far too FOR SCIENCE! at times, but he's a good person at heart and he loves his little brother and. He's a honorary stupid wizard ♥♥♥

... well. Yeah. |D I LOVED THE WHOLE THING but I'm still the most predictable ever!

Hey. Hey. Did you see the part that made me think "OMG Doctor Who!"?

I think of Who with pretty much everything so you'll have to be more specific XD

Van Kleiss pulling a Rory (only without keeping his sanity as well. Because Rory is more awesome.)

AHAHAHA YES AND THE ROMANS DIDN'T HELP. XD But Rory is indeed more awesome. And not evil.

I also had a Who moment with the whole "had to push the button for the greater good" thing, not gonna lie.
