The Lost Hero!

I looooove these books. =D

→ I adore Piper. I adore Leo. Jason... exists. Their dynamics as a group work well though (as in, not just in-universe; they're entertaining to read about) and all of them get their point of view shown, so Jason being pretty much a blank slate doesn't really bother me. It was a good choice not to make him the single protagonist the way Percy was, IMO.

→ This is going to sound pretty similar to what I say about Korra and A:tLA, but it's true: I love that even if the style/tone is the same as in the Percy Jackson books, both the plot and the characters are very different. That really works here, too. It's not a constant "oh but __________ was better" feeling AND it doesn't ruin what the characters from the earlier books achieved.

→ ... that said, I loved that we got to see Thalia, Annabeth and Rachel. Because they're awesome.

→ DRAAAAAAAAAGOOOOOOOOOOOON. ♥ So of course he had to die. Of course. But I love the whole thing with ship and Leo's attitude about the whole thing and I just love Leo a lot okay. *adopts*

→ And in keeping with the theme, I love that Piper got the courage to talk early on, and I love that the boys understood it, and I love that she decided that she didn't have to choose between her dad and her friends.

→ ALSO ALSO the way those two ended up as cabin leaders? PERFECT. She stood up for herself and he was accepted and akldjfakfjaslfjkl this books are so clever and stuff makes sense from a character development point of view apart from rule of cool and stuff. LOVE. LOVE FOREVER.

→ ... I had more to say but I can't remember XD POKE ME IN THE COMMENTS.
