Legend of Korra!

I really really really like this show. Only two episodes and I'm already hooked! And while it's very similar to A:tLA in quality and tone, it's also different enough that I didn't find myself constantly comparing.

I have lots of hopes for where this is going. The plot is intriguing and, like I said, different enough from the first series that it won't feel like a rehash. The characters are adorable and they already feel well-rounded even with so little screentime. The world building continues to be amazing (and it's wonderful to see an imaginary world that actually changes over time). The animation and music are gorgeous.

I... don't really have a favourite character, which doesn't surprise me because 1)only two episodes, heh, and 2)this will probably be one of those I LOVE EVERYBODY canons for me. I couldn't pick between Korra and Bolin and Tenzin! (I like Mako too, I just... like Bolin more. HE'S ADORABLE.)

Also: MASTER KATARA.

I had no idea she was going to be still alive for this series. Yay! Although I'm sad that Sokka is dead, he would have been a great eccentric old man.

Tenzin, Tenzin is the man. He had me at "don't bring my mother into this"

Isn't he awesome? XDDD Of course, I like the mentor type with a temper, no one could have seen that coming...

I saw the first two eps and I may have to break down and get cable. This show has everything that made A:TLA wonderful, and I am very curious to see how the larger world/politics will play out.

And I have a total soft spot for Tenzin - he's a riot, and his kids...oh man, I can see why he has his mother's temper sometimes!

Wasn't it great? =D I'm really curious about where they go with the politics, too, because that's something I enjoyed a lot in A:tLA so I've got high hopes for it.

Tenzin is amazing! And really patient all things considered. XD

Also, Tenzin's voice actor is fantastic (and one of his daughters is played by Sally from Mad Men, and ohhhh man, that just made me squee.) I hope we get some flashbacks of a young Tenzin. :)

I do hope, with the Equalists, they don't make a straw man out of their argument. Because they have a point - what does it mean to be of the various nations/kingdoms/tribes/nomads if you aren't a bender? Not to bring in Benedict Anderson, but it's even more of an imagined community for those who, you could argue, have more in common with non-benders of other regions than they do with benders from their own. And with the various groups being brought together in Republic City, non-benders have to start recognizing that, and wonder why they don't have more political power, especially if non-benders are the majority of the populace. And given Zuko had a non-bender for a wife, and maybe even a non-bending child, surely he and Aang had to have at least talked about the divide between benders/non-benders.

*sighs* I was doing so good, not having cable, but this show may drag me back in!

Considering how A:tLA dealt with politics, I doubt they'll make it a straw man argument. Even in the first couple of episodes we've seen examples of how their point of view makes sense, like with the Bending "mafia" guys taking advantage of non-benders.
