LJ fail + cat win (and I'm not even a cat person!)

So I spent most of yesterday wondering why on earth people were so upset about LJ adding a ticky-box they can just ignore if they don't want to crosspost, and then I read that other people can crosspost your stuff. Uh. Ooookay. Why are those things never clear?

You know the drill, don't crosspost without asking. I feel like I'm preaching to the choir here, though.


In completely unrelated news: it's raining, so my dog's inside the house. The plate with her food is still outside, somewhere dry. And a neighbour's cat keeps sneaking towards it, staring at me for a few seconds to see if I'll kick him out, and then sneaking away again with some food. Every five minutes or so. It's so ~careful~ and everything.

I'd love to share a photo but of course, every time I try to take one he runs away. Oh well.

I was more like "who would want to crosspost comments?" but then I saw the experiments some people did where crossposting comments to someone else's locked entry ACTUALLY QUOTES THE ENTRY IN FACEBOOK. ICON AND ALL.

Yo tardé en caer porque, con la mano en el corazón, la mayoría de las veces que la gente hace escándalo por cambios en LJ me parece una exageración así que no estaba prestando mucha atención que digamos. Es difícil darse cuenta que esta vez es en serio cuando la gente arma el mismo escándalo por "otra persona puede poner mi información donde quiera" que por "oh noes cambiaron el formato de la página de info!!1!" >.>

Yo me enteré porque tengo friendada lj_releases; la gente ahí igual se queja en los comentarios, pero es menos escándalo que en news

Why the hell LJ hasn't addressed that cross-posting snafu, I don't know. Usually when they fuck up, they at least (eventually) own up to it and fix it.

My cat used to do that occasionally, except that he was trying to sneak food off my plate. While I was eating.
