I haven't forgotten about the rest of the AU ficlets! I'll try to get them done this weekend. Meanwhile, have a meme:
Pick 20 movies/anime/video games/literary works and put their summaries from Better than it Sounds and WITHOUT CHEATING have your friends guess.
Some of them are pretty obvious, but oh well:
1. A series about a really old man who spends his lifetime convincing young hot girls to join him inside a (flying, time traveling) phone box. He is routinely harassed by tin men, giant nazi pepperpots and one of his college buddies. DOCTOR WHO
2. The pirate tricks the blacksmith into serving a man with a Scots accent and a Welsh name with an octopus for a head who lives in a Dutch submarine and plays the organ. PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN (specifically Dead Man's Chest)
3. A guy plays Knight In Shining Armor. Hilarity Ensues. DON QUIXOTE
4. A trigger-happy botanist and an elderly sanitation worker fall in love. Then they rescue some fat people from a steering wheel. WALL-E
5. If you simply make a wish, fairy tales do come true. Giving them happy endings is a lot harder. PRINCESS TUTU
6. Years after an eccentric philanthropist goes missing, it is learned that his most prized possession must be destroyed. THE LORD OF THE RINGS (specifically Fellowship of the Ring)
7. A washed-up team of robots flees to Earth after discovering a powerful artifact during a routine repair assignment, winds up in a coma for 50 years. Upon awakening, They Fight Crime. TRANSFORMERS: ANIMATED
8. A widower chases after a serial killer whose killing spree is the widower's own fault. Nowadays, most people confuse the widower's name with the killer's. FRANKENSTEIN
9. A heavily tattooed kung-fu Dalai Lama, his Eskimo pals, a blind Chinese loli of mass destruction and some animals that don't exist (but should) take on an army of arsonists who wear giant shoulderpads. AVATAR: THE LAST AIRBENDER
10. The adventures of old-fashioned Frenchmen with a penchant for fighting and pork. ASTERIX
11. Convict escapes justice. Valiant capture attempt by devoted police force prove futile. Student uprising ends in massacre. And then there's a wedding. LES MISERABLES
12. A girl learns philosophy from a book about a girl learning philosophy to escape a book about philosophy being read by the original girl, who as the reader knows, is also a character in a book about philosophy. SOPHIE'S WORLD
13. Transforming Mecha become cyborgs because their fuel source is poison to them, reenact historical events on an alien world while Sufficiently Advanced Aliens get pissed that they're ruining their petri dish. BEAST WARS
14. Scrawny young teen stops a seven-generation long war and impresses his dad by eating a raw fish that his best friend spit back up. Cuteness ensues. HOW TO TRAIN YOUR DRAGON
15. An old woman leaves her home in persuit of another old woman, and ends up becoming the housekeeper for a selfish, immature Bishounen. HOWL'S MOVING CASTLE
16. Three witches drag a kingdom into the future to get rid of its new king. They end up replacing said king with his court jester. WYRD SISTERS
17. Three men and four hundred extras travel through space in their futuristic living room/model UN club, going where no man has gone before. STAR TREK (in general)
18. Military specialist searches for a magic rock recipe to get his brother out of a can. In one version of the story, the rock is their father, in the other version the rock is us. FULLMETAL ALCHEMIST

20. A bumbling manservant uses non-specified superpowers to protect his unwitting and unappreciative master while taking advice from a dragon that basically speaks in subtext (and ships them). Corny CGI ensues. MERLIN
