So
pellimusprime makes an icon request post, and what do I ask for? Wizard Space Robots. Yeah. That says a lot about me. :P
... it also says a lot about Starscream. But mostly about me! Because my inexplicable fascination with this guy (who is really charismatic, of course, but not the type of character I tend to like best) turns out to make a whoooole lot more sense when you realize he's pretty much a Stupid Wizard In Disguise.
A bad guy stupid wizard, granted. And he'd probably be horrified at the thought, but that just makes it even funnier. :P I mean, look at him! Once you get past the tiny "uhhh he doesn't actually do magic" detail, what do you get?
Ego over 9000. Never shuts up. Horrible temper. Everything needs an overly complicated plan, and even better if there's an unnecessary speech included. Neeeerd. OH LOOK A SHINY THING I MUST TOUCH IT. Typical ex-best-friend-on-the-other-side backstory. Messing with stuff he really shouldn't mess with, up to and including Unicron. Keeps annoying everyone long after he's dead.
Seriously. Look at that list. Look at it.
But my "oooh this explains everything" moment came when I was looking for a particular Discworld quote about wizards, and... well. Let my findings speak for themselves:
→ Any true wizard, faced with a sign like "Do not open this door. Really. We mean it. We're not kidding. Opening this door will mean the end of the universe," would *automatically* open the door in order to see what all the fuss was about.
→ Wizards can put up with any amount of deprivation and discomfort, provided it is not happening to them.
→ No wizard would normally dream of giving a colleague a leg up unless it was in order to catch them on the hop.
And the truly Screamer-like that Opened My Eyes To The Truth:
→ An ancient proverb summed it up: when a wizard is tired of looking for broken glass in his dinner, it ran, he is tired of life.
... so yeah. My brain is weird but, really, canon provides. :P And Discworld!Starscream would be so much fun to write but I have such a long bunny list already aaaah someone stop my brain please.

Discworld always ends up making me wonder what I see in these people. |D But it's okay because I've been listening to Fool Moon this afternoon. There are nice stupid wizards too! Really! =DDD

Yeah, they exist! But, then again, Harry is a mixture between stupid wizard and shonen retard even if he's in his late twenties. :p
