"Oh, Suppi!!! Where are you?"

As he heard the merry though not-so-musical voice approaching, Spinel looked up from his book and sighed. He didn't deign to answer, but knew it was no use; not much time would pass until-

"Here you are, Suppi!" Ruby exclaimed cheerfully as she swung the library's door open. "Lookie!"

Still in her false form, she twirled around the room until Spinel started to feel dizzy.

"Who's Suppi, and what's there to look at?" he asked, his voice dripping with boredom. Ruby's face fell.

"My new skirt, you blind thing!" she answered. "Don't you love it? It's really really cool! Ah, I'm sure Touya will love it... I can already see the look on his lovely, beautiful, gorgeous eyes when he sees me tomorrow-"

"You are supposed to go to school in your uniform, I believe," Spinel said, tilting his head. "Besides, that is just another denim skirt like the other thousand or so you have."

"First of all," she began to explain, almost seriously, "who says I'm going to meet Touya at school?"

"So you are stalking him," he interrupted. Ruby ignored him.

"And secondly, this is not just another denim skirt, my dear Suppi. This is the absolute latest and coolest model there is." She twirled again a couple of times, then approached him and pinched his cheek in that annoying manner of hers. "How can you be such an ignorant?"

Spinel snorted at the irony.

"It must be all that time reading," he drawled. "Now, Ruby dear, go to the window and look at that perfectly clear sky... doesn't it make you want to be outside? Go and let me finish War and Peace, unless you want me to hit you with it. And, as you can see, it is quite heavy."

"Oh, but you have finished War and Peace, Suppi! At least five or six times! You should come to the garden with me and exercise your wings a bit..."

"I exercise my wings in my true form, when it is strictly necessary," he muttered. "Not everyone likes to bounce around all day long."

Ruby looked distracted all of a sudden.

"Hmm, speaking of true forms..."

"Now what?" Spinel sighed.

"Don't you think I should try to use the butterfly design in my false form's clothes, too? It's really pretty!"

Spinel groaned and buried his head on his book. She seemed to be offended by that for some reason.

"But it is pretty!" she insisted. "I mean, look at my butterfly earrings! They're sooo much cooler than Yue's..."

"Yes, of course, whatever you say," he muttered. "Just let me sit here and read, please."

"You're such a lazy cat, Suppi. Why don't you have some fun?" Ruby sighed. And then -the horror!- she started singing. Spinel recognised the melody instantly; it was that stupid song from that stupid movie that Eriol had stupidly let her watch. He shuddered as he heard the dreaded words-

"Just a spoonful of sugar..."

"You wouldn't dare," he said fiercely, but still recoiled just in case.

Ruby grinned. He simply fled.
