Day o' Classic - City of Death picspam

I'm joining in the Classic Who love with a review/picspam of one of my favourite serials. I've thought about it for a while before deciding on this one, because as far as Classic Who goes it does get a lot of love, but I think it's worth posting about it anyway. This is a story that often gets summarized as "the Doctor and Romana run around Paris holding hands" and, although that's pretty accurate, there's a lot more to it than Dating For Time Lords. It can be a lot of fun even for people who don't like Doctor/Romana or don't care about shipping at all.

I can't pretend I won't squee about them: this episode was my introduction to both Four and Romana, and I was shipping them about three minutes in, heh. But I can promise I'll squee about many other things too. This serial has a fun plot, plenty of timey wimey stuff, a couple of unintentionally funny deaths, one of my favourite side characters, and cameos by Eleanor Bron and John Cleese. It's love all around.

And that's why I think everyone should watch this serial, even though I can't make it justice. It's a lot of fun - sometimes intentionally and sometimes, well, not so much - and it deserves all the love it gets.
