Floating around the kitchen, Kero tried to hold back his impatience as he watched Fujitaka make popcorn. It was, after all, an unusual occasion. Even if the professor was starting to be comfortable around him at last, it was the first time that he invited the small Guardian to watch a movie with him, let alone three on a row. He wanted to make good use of his day off, he had said.

"Touya has to work all day, and Sakura was never interested in these," he had explained. "Besides, I think you'll like them."

Kero couldn't say no to such a plan. Even if the movies turned out to be boring, there was always the popcorn to look forward to. Once it was finally done, they settled down on the sofa to begin with the show.

"What are we going to watch?" Kero asked, curious. Fujitaka grinned, but he didn't give a straight answer.

"You'll see," he said. "I'm not going to spoil the surprise for you."

"Oh, c'mon! At least give me a hint!"

"All right," he compromised. "It's adventure, and it has some humour. And it's also the reason why most of my students take my class, I'm afraid."

That wasn't much of a hint, the Guardian thought, but he could tell that he wasn't going to get a better reply. He tried to look at the cases, but all he could see from his position was the title and the main character' silly hat.

Indiana Jones. What kind of name was that?

He was about to complain, but the first movie was already starting. It turned out to be more entertaining than he had thought. Soon enough, he was laughing and cheering and yelling at the bad guys. Fujitaka seemed as amused by his reactions as by the film itself.

"I hadn't seen someone watch these for the first time since Touya was little," he said. "It always looks like the surprise makes things even better."

Even if the professor had to get used to live with magical beings, Kero thought he wasn't having it any easier himself. Those little Clowish statements were still unexpected. He quickly changed the subject.

"I bet your job is not like that," he snorted.

"Ah, well," Fujitaka laughed, "I see enough strange things at home, don't you think?"

"But not so many women."

"Don't say those things. My wife might show up any minute, you know," he replied jokingly.

"Like she doesn't know you're no saint. Sakura told me how old she was when you got married."

Fujitaka turned to look at him with a look that was somewhere between annoyed and amused. And very, very familiar.

"Did you talk to Clow like that?"

"All the time," Kero answered, grabbing some popcorn. "You see, I was the only sane one. I had to be the voice of reason."

"Really..."

"Really – wait!" he exclaimed. "This part looks important!"

It actually was an important scene, he soon found out, and he became so interested in the story again that he watched the rest of the movie without any more chat. After a short pause to get more popcorn, they put on the second one. And then Kero couldn't help but say something else.

"Wait, there's a different girl now?" he asked. "And I bet there's yet another one in the third one, right?"

"He gives us all a bad name, really," Fujitaka said. The Guardian gave him a disbelieving look.

"But you still like these movies."

"Of course. How many movies about archaeologists do you know?"

That, Kero had to admit, was a very good point.
