→ Clow and Yuuko in the Jigoku Shoujo 'verse
→ The Doctor in Pokemon Land
→ TFA!Bumblebee and Blurr in the Speed Racer movieverse
→ Cousin Nekozawa visits the Addams
→ Nodame meets Aang
→ The BBC!Merlin cast at Hogwarts
→ An alternate (as in, not Shattered Glass) Transformers mirrorverse
→ The Ark of Yamato meets the TARDIS
→ Chihiro ends up in the City of Old Emperors

pellimusprime makes an icon request post, and what do I ask for? Wizard Space Robots. Yeah. That says a lot about me. :P
... it also says a lot about Starscream. But mostly about me! Because my inexplicable fascination with this guy (who is really charismatic, of course, but not the type of character I tend to like best) turns out to make a whoooole lot more sense when you realize he's pretty much a Stupid Wizard In Disguise.
A bad guy stupid wizard, granted. And he'd probably be horrified at the thought, but that just makes it even funnier. :P I mean, look at him! Once you get past the tiny "uhhh he doesn't actually do magic" detail, what do you get?

... so yeah. My brain is weird but, really, canon provides. :P And Discworld!Starscream would be so much fun to write but I have such a long bunny list already aaaah someone stop my brain please.

I've been wanting to write a post about Clow in Tsubasa for a while, now. I know, it's been a relatively long time already; this isn't exactly a reaction. It's more like rambling about why I reacted that way. Because, well, I was surprised that some things bothered me as much as they did.
I like Wise Old Mentors who made huge mistakes in the past, after all. I like them a lot. It's one of my favourite character types. So why did finding out that Clow had made a huge mistake make me headdesk so much instead of appreciating it as rounding his character? Well, I think I've finally figured it out, now that I've taken the time to look at the whole thing with a cool head instead of ranting in frustration about it.

Non-spoilery Holmes rambling and a meme
Feb. 11th, 2010 04:23 pmI finally saw Sherlock Holmes yesterday! And I had a crazy amount of fun. I have to admit that I'm by no means an expert and much less a purist, but I do like the books, I was sort of expecting to see Sherlock Bond from the trailer... and nope, it was Holmes all right. Silly and over the top, yes, but in a very enjoyable way. Something else I have to admit: I never really did like Holmes as a character. I loved the stories, loved Watson, couldn't stand him. (Surprising, I know, because "I'm a genius with an ego the size of a small planet" is one of my favourite character types. Who knows what makes the difference there.) But yesterday, in the movie? I DIDN'T WANT TO PUNCH HIM IN THE FACE! Not even once! I actually liked him, huh. And since they didn't change his personality, I'll have to blame this entirely on RDJ's charisma, I guess.
